Membership

Membership is open to everyone. You can ride with TCC twice before deciding whether you would like to become a member. The annual membership subscription is set out below.

You can join our club through our British Cycling portal

Membership fees are £20 per year and your membership runs from the date you join.

With your membership you also get included an affiliate membership to Tadcaster Community Sports Trust. https://www.tadcastersportstrust.co.uk/membership/

What this means & how your data is used

In order to provide this affiliated membership status and its benefits, TCC will share your name and email address with the Trust. This is required to verify your eligibility for the benefits included as part of your membership.

£10 of your annual membership fee will be allocated to the Trust to support the facilities. These benefits include:

  • Car parking

  • Toilet facilities

  • Tool access

Your personal data will be used only for confirming your membership status with the Trust. It will not be used for marketing or any other purpose, and will be retained only for as long as you remain a member of TCC.

By joining or renewing your membership with TCC, you are agreeing to this data sharing for the purposes of providing your affiliated member status. The legal basis for processing this information is the performance of a membership contract (i.e., your membership with TCC).

Membership Benefits

  • Discounted BC Membership Discount: If you are not a previous BC member
    Tadcaster Cycling Club Members receive a discounted rate to becoming a BC member.
  • You are covered on the Club Insurance policy: “All Clubs, Teams and Associations in England other than school clubs are automatically covered for Public Liability Insurance, with an indemnity limit of £10,000,000 upon payment of the Club Affiliation Fee to British Cycling. The policy indemnifies the club/team in respect of its legal liability for accidental loss or damage to third party property or accidental bodily injury or death to third party persons.”

  • All new membership applications and renewals must be made via the British Cycling club profile.
  • Membership runs for 12 months from the date you join.
  • Your membership details are held within the British Cycling Club Management Tool.
  • To provide affiliated member benefits with the Tadcaster Community Sports Trust, TCC will share your name and email address with the Trust. This data sharing is required for verifying your affiliated membership status and is carried out under the legal basis of “performance of a membership contract.”
  • Your personal data will be used only for confirming your membership status with the Trust and will not be used for marketing or any other purpose. Your data will be retained only for as long as you remain a member of TCC.
  • Potential new members may ride with the club a maximum of two times before committing to membership. These rides should be standard club rides rather than chain-gang style sessions.
  • TCC accepts no liability for any loss or injury resulting from participation in club activities or events.
  • Refunds are not offered except in exceptional circumstances as approved by the Committee.
  • All members must abide by the club constitution, policies and ride etiquette.

Membership Data and Privacy

When you apply for membership of Tadcaster Cycling Club, your details are processed securely through the British Cycling Club Management Tool. This includes your name, contact details, date of birth, emergency contact information, and British Cycling membership number (if applicable). This information is used solely for administering your club membership.

Tadcaster Cycling Club will only use your personal data for membership administration and essential club communications. We do not share your details with third parties except where required for insurance, event administration (e.g., our Reliability Ride), or legal/safety reasons.

By submitting your membership application through British Cycling, you confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

If you do not renew your membership, your personal data will be retained for 6 months after your membership lapses, after which it will be securely deleted unless required for legitimate legal or safeguarding reasons.
